Give Up Making People Wrong

IMG_6517“Give up making people wrong in your life for one week and see the effect on your life and those around you.” –Wayne Dyer

Wayne Dyer said this last week on Twitter and it really stuck with me. Can I do this? Can I give up making people wrong for a whole week or a month or a lifetime? If I think about how my week usually goes eventually someone says something or does something that feels “wrong” to me– a kid, husband, coworker.  I don’t necessarily tell the person that I believe them to be wrong– but if I’m honest, I think it.

It’s so much easier to blame and make people wrong. Often times they say something unkind or disappoint me. But while I’m complaining about this person to my friend or thinking judgmental thoughts about them I feel icky inside. Almost dirty.

I also know that when I am being mindful and choose not to judge someone else and use the affirmation, “that’s the best they can do.” I feel relief and lighter inside.

So I’m going to try it. I’ll report back and let you know how it went. Want to join me? Do you think you can be mindful too and not judge people for one week? Let me know how you do. It’s going to be challenging for sure.
